1. Are 3D printed orthoses durable enough?

Yes. WIMBA uses the best quality methods in the production of orthopedic supplies for animals. The materials used in the production of our orthopedic products have been tested and are proven to uphold. Our high quality products are extremely durable yet very lightweight.

2. What materials are orthoses made of?

The base material of the brace is nylon based from HP- Hewlett Packard and called PA-12 and PA-13 and it’s approved for skin contact and thus great for use in animal bracing. Nylon base makes it incredibly light, but durable. It’s waterproof, the dog can rehab in their brace in water.
Our braces have been cycle tested in development to 2-million cycles, the equivalent of 10,000 steps a day for 365 days at a Bernese mountain dog size load (145lbs).
The squishy “pillow” of the brace is called TPU which is a spongy, spring like version of the 3D printed material. Even at its most compressed state (fitted on the dog) the material allows for airflow through it, helping prevent pressure sores.

3. How long will the production and delivery take?

For the orthoses we have in regular production, the production time is up to 10 working days. For orthoses that require additional customization and specialization, the production and delivery times may vary. In these instances, our Wimba team will perform case specific reviews to best determine more accurate production and delivery times.

4. To which countries I can order WIMBA products?
