Review this WimbaSCAN Checklist for a proper WimbaSCAN for Tarsal Orthotic.

Before Patient Arrives

  • Video resolution (min 1080p) → highest possible video quality
  • 4K is the most beneficial
  • Check scan room lighting (no over exposure or under exposure on scanned limb)
  • WIMBA Scan Mat is flat on hard & flat surface
  • Proper camera & WIMBA Dolly trajectory (estimated for patient)
  • No smudges or streaks on the lens
  • Prep with staff and appropriate support & reinforcement for patient

Prepare Patient for Scan

  • Support patient’s anxiety/comfort
  • Bandage correctly applied: the bandage is smooth, the bandage covers affected joint and extends to the proximal and distal joint
  • Hair/objects don’t cover Bandage
  • Mat Colors (blue/green) visible
  • Patient in the correct position
  • Coverage of entire limb on film - full rotation around limb

Review Scan (Patient rests)

  • Video resolution on phone (1080p +)
  • Bandage did not slide down
  • Bandage is smooth, no wrinkles
  • Bandage covers affected joint and extends to the proximal and distal joint (We can’t design what is not covered by bandage)
  • Hair/objects don’t cover Bandage
  • Mat Colors (blue/green) visible
  • Patient didn’t move during scan
  • Coverage of entire limb on film - full rotation around limb
  • Focus maintained on limb
