Discover the medical indications for WIMBA Go devices, including WIMBA Carpal Orthosis Go and WIMBA Tarsal Orthosis Go. Learn which patients can benefit and explore practical examples for better understanding.
WIMBA Carpus Orthosis Go:
- Carpal hyperextension (compensatory, ligament, or tendon condition)
- Mild cases
- Maximum angle in extension: 205 degrees
- Osteoarthritis in the carpal joint
- Rehabilitation Therapy (variety of uses)
- Prevention for numerous situations
- Support for obese dogs
Note: Distal strap is placed 4.5 cm from the carpal joint - we will not accept patients with smaller limbs (Minimum = 11 cm limb circumference).
Note: The number of proximal straps (1 or 2) will be based on the measurements submitted.

Cases Suitable for WIMBA Carpus Orthosis Go:
Red Flags (Cases Not Suitable for WIMBA Carpus Orthosis Go):
- Deformation of the joint
- Joint rebuilt
- Deformation of digits
- Medial or lateral instabilites
WIMBA Tarsus Orthosis Go:
- Tarsal hyperextension (compensatory, ligament, or tendon condition)
- mild cases
- maximum extension: 180 degrees)
- Tarsal hyperflexion (Achilles tendon/CCT injuries with no complete tear present)
- mild cases
- maximum flexion: 90 degrees
- Osteoarthritis in the tarsal joint
- Rehabilitation Therapy (variety of uses)
- Prevention for numerous situations
- Support for obese dogs

Summarized Indications for WIMBA Orthoses:
-
Carpus Orthosis: Designed for mild carpal hyperextension (max 205°), osteoarthritis, rehabilitation, and support in obese dogs. Not suitable for joint deformation, reconstructed joints, or medial/lateral instabilities. Minimum limb circumference: 11 cm.
-
Tarsus Orthosis: Suitable for mild tarsal hyperextension (max 180°), hyperflexion (max 90°), osteoarthritis, and rehabilitation. Excludes cases with joint deformation, reconstructed joints, or medial/lateral instabilities. Minimum limb circumference: 11 cm.
-
Usage Guidelines: Orthoses are tailored for individual patients based on provided measurements and photos. Severe conditions or improper measurements may disqualify cases.
